Japan's Inpex has awarded French services player Technip a flexible pipe supply contract for its Ichthys gas field off north-west Australia.
Under the contract Technip will supply three kilometres of smooth bore 10 inch gas export risers and three kilometres of 12 inch production risers.
Technip said it would carry out the contract from its operating centre in Perth, Western Australia, with the flexible risers being manufactured at its flexible plant in Le Trait, France.
It expects work on the contract to be completed during the first half of 2015.
Inpex is transporting gas from the Icthys field, which lies in Western Australia’s offshore Browse basin, via an 889 kilometre subsea pipeline to onshore processing facilities in Darwin in the Northern Territory.
