POSCO appears to have marked down marine thick-plate prices by KRW 10,000-20,000 ($9-18) per ton for the third quarter.
Sources said that Q3 price negotiation was finalized to down prices by around KRW 10,000-20,000 per ton, on October 5.
Due to plummeted prices of imported iron ore, the Korean steel maker has agreed to shipyards' demand for price cut.
Meanwhile, domestic thick-plate price dropped to some KRW 900,000 at the end of last year, from KRW 1,110,000 in early 2011, and it decreased further to some KRW 800,000 in early of 2012.
