Chinese steel firms up alliance

Recently, China's steel plate makers spur the establishment of cooperative relationships with domestic and overseas shipyards.

Hunan Valin Xiangtan Iron & Steel (XISC) is said to have signed an agreement with Hyundai Heavy Industries in Korea to expand tradings of marine thick plates.

Besides, XISC signed a supply contract with Tsuneishi Group Shipbuilding of Japan and will deliver 6m-ton thick plates for ships, tentatively.

Also, Jigang Group has contracted with domestic shipyards - Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu Ship Industry, AVIC Weihai Shipyard and Huanghai Shipbuilding - for a stratetic cooperative agreement and sets up for business expansion.
