China's AVIC Weihai Shipyard is in talks with Germany's Bernhard Schulte to build 2,300TEU containership series.
The Shandong-based yard is said to be considering co-owning the newbuildings together with the shipowner.
An industry source said, “Schulte has proposed to co-own the newbuildings with the yard."
"AVIC Weihai could own up to 90% stake of the vessels,” he added.
Meanwhile, Schulte had teamed up with JP Morgan to order four 2,300TEU boxships with four options at Zhejiang Yangfan last month.
