China's AVIC Weihai Shipyard is close to win an order for a series boxships from a German owner.
An official from AVIC Weihai revealed that the shipyard is now under negotiation with German shipowner to build six mid-sized containerships.
Also, he said that AVIC Weihai had planned to deliver a dozen of newbuildings this year but now it expects to deliver a total of 14 vessels.
He added that the shipyard prospected around CNY 3bn ($480m) of operating revenue for this year and aims CNY 4bn for 2013.
After having proceeded M&A with AVIC International Beijing, AVIC Weihai's new orders from domestic owners turn out to be on uptick.
