[Marine] Pricing to rise in China

  Pricing to rise in China

China Secondhand Ship Price Index (SSPI), during November 10-23, stood at 796.52p, up by 0.87p on the same period of the previous month.

Prices of secondhand bulkers in China appear to be slightly increasing amid improvement of shipping market. Although inquiries over 5,000-dwt bulkers are increasing, but they still do not see more tradings than other sizes with lower pricings.

10,000-20,000 dwt bulkers are attracting shipowners and have brisk discussion, while those in the size of over 20,000 dwt are still unpopular since buyers are looking for lower prices.

As for tanker secondhand market, contracts for some 1,000-dwt tankers or bunkering tankers slightly increased and buyers and brokers from the Southeast Asia and the Middle East keep making inquiries for some 2,000-3,000 dwt. On the other hand, 4,000-5,000 dwt product carrier market is still under depression.
